My work is autobiographical. It explores moments that are reduced in the present to a distorted version of themselves. Memory cannot be trusted because it becomes forgotten or idealized.
Personal memories and emotions become tangible through written and unwritten words. Through materiality, I explore the folding and unfolding of time, interior and exterior perspectives, and textural fabrications as narrative. Because intimate relationships are influenced by society, the personal is also the political.

Carmesí: Memoria y Olvido was the name of my thesis exhibition, which was dedicated to romantic love.
For this exhibition, I utilized various textile techniques, such as: digital embroidery, laser cutting, hand-sewing, hand weaving, digital Jacquard weaving, digital printing, and fabric manipulation techniques.
The result was a body of work that I like to divide in three categories: woven hangings, textile sculpture, and sound pieces.
